And this year, ECR Forum makes a new focus on parapharmacy. Across Europe retailers are starting to discover a potentially big and lucrative new market – parapharmacy. As national and EU laws loosen the ties of regulation, a limited but increasing number of over-the-counter medicines is becoming available for sale outside the traditional pharmacy, creating new opportunities for the pharmaceutical and FMCG industries alike. These opportunities will be fully explored at the ECR Europe Forum & Marketplace in Barcelona next June. A series of breakout seminars and a special agenda-setting session will be devoted to the subject, giving ECR delegates an unrivalled perspective on the issues surrounding parapharmacy. ECR Forum is presented like the biggest event in Europe for top managers in the retailing and FMCG industry. ECR Europe is a joint trade and industry body committed to making the grocery sector as a whole more responsive to consumer demand and to promoting the removal of unnecessary costs from the supply chain. With its secretariat in Brussels, ECR Europe works closely with national ECR initiatives in most European countries. Through participation in collaborative projects at European and national levels, best practices are identified which enable retailers and manufacturers to reduce inefficiencies in their supply chain and optimise consumer value. In previous years the ECR Europe Forum & Marketplace has attracted around 2,000 delegates from all over the world.
