Texte AlternatifBy developing what KHS calls "active molds", it is now possible to produce large PET containers with a snap-on handle that can hold up to 2.5 litres. The main applications are the packaging of juices, oils, milk, household and personal care products. “Active blowing molds" differ from traditional blowing molds in that they are equipped with two additional moving parts. These can be activated with tires to form mounting points, and thus have a stable grip on the container during the stretch blow-moulding process, the handle being fixed later in the process. Finally, thanks to the choice of PET material, the finished product will have satisfactory barrier properties, and good strength for the same weight as a different material (such as HDPE or PP).
