UNITED STATES : All-paper retail blister packaging

Sonoco’s EnviroSense PaperBlister is a recyclable all-paper alternative to traditional thermoformed plastic blister packaging.

Since it uses water-based sealing technology, it does not emit VOCs (volatile organic compounds). With an overall smaller footprint, the new paper blister packaging also offers greater efficiency in the supply chain, requiring three times less cartons per truckload to ship the same quantity of products as a plastic blister packaging. Added to this is the advantage of visibility for brands to improve the display of products and advertising messages, “with possible cuts-out into the package if needed,” says Sonoco.
