At the Dscoop Edge exhibition, held from 19 to 22 June in Portaventura, Spain, HP presented its HP Indigo ElectroInk inks, now compatible with the production of biodegradable printed packaging certified by the independent control body TÜV Austria, which are eligible for industrial and private composting.
"HP Indigo digital presses eliminate the need for plates or cylinders and allow printing at more accurate volumes, reducing overstocks and waste during production," said Philippe Govart, Director of Graphic Arts Marketing at HP France. Deinking tests, an essential step in the recycling process, were conducted to verify that digitally Indigo printed flexible packaging, including its coating, could be completely deinked, and the results obtained were satisfactory, HP announced.
