A certified, recyclable, high barrier pouch

Kuraray’s Plantic™ EP plant-based granule, designed for extrusion coatings, is used as a durable gas and aroma barrier solution for traditional paper, board or film substrates.

Its repulpability and recyclability are guaranteed by Western Michigan University, an important first step toward the How2Recycle label according to Kuraray, to offer brands and converters sustainable, recoverable and recyclable barrier pouches and cartons. Containing more than 80 percent corn starch, Plantic™ is made from renewable plant-based ingredients, can be used in recyclable and compostable formats, and provides an excellent gas barrier to extend the shelf life of packaged products. Beyond that, it dissolves easily in water and paves the way for the circular economy.
