Burgo Group launches the new product range Sun

Sun is the innovative FBB and FSB products from the Sora mill of Burgo Group. The plant, after a few weeks of testing and ahead of the expected timeframe, is now able to produce a multilayer board with excellent thickness and stiffness, which can stand alongside the best FBB and FSB products already on the market.

According to its strategy of diversifying its production mix and strengthening its market position in the world of packaging, at the end of 2023 Burgo Group kicked off a significant investment with the installation of a new triple-layer headbox on PM 2 at its Sora mill in the province of Frosinone (Latium, Italy). The plant, after a few weeks of testing and ahead of the expected timeframe, is now able to produce a multilayer board with excellent thickness and stiffness, which can stand alongside the best FBB (Folding Box Board) and FSB (Food Service Board) products already on the market.

The improvements have been very effective and can also be seen within the other ranges already in production at the same plant. Machine 2 has a total capacity of around 200,000t/y and with this investment Burgo strengthens its southern European leadership also in the virgin fibre board sector.

The new Sun range consists in the FBB range of the Top (gc1) and Strong (gc2) types while in the FSB range it consists of the Cup (natural, mono and bi-poly), Cup Ice and Tray types: all qualities will be available with the product and environmental certifications required by the market.
