Sumitomo (SHI) Demag is strengthening its collaboration with K.D. Feddersen. The Hamburg-based distributor and service provider for technical plastics, which already manages the markets in Sweden, Finland, Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania for the injection molding machine manufacturer, will also be responsible for Denmark and Norway starting from October 2024.

K.D. Feddersen will manage the entire administration for Scandinavia – including Sweden, Norway, Finland, and Denmark – from its Swedish office in Värnamo. The complete spare parts sales and the booking of technicians will also be coordinated from there. A team of two spare parts coordinators and a total of seven engineers will handle customer needs. Additionally, for the newly acquired markets in Denmark and Norway, extra staff (service technicians, sales managers) is currently being recruited to actively support local customers.

“We are pleased to take on the representation of the world market leader for fully electric injection molding machines across all of Scandinavia and the Baltic region,” notes Torbjörn Egerhag, CFO of K.D. Feddersen (Sweden and Denmark).

Moreover, the company has subsidiaries in both countries. K.D. Feddersen Plastics Machinery AS has been operating in Norway since 2017. From Trondheim, it trades in technical plastics, machines, and equipment for the plastics processing and recycling industries and has long represented established manufacturers in these segments. In Denmark, the subsidiary K.D. Feddersen Plastic Machinery ApS has been active in Veile since November of last year.

“We believe that expanding the cooperation with Sumitomo (SHI) Demag can spark an initial boost by showing existing customers and the market that Sumitomo (SHI) Demag is committed and ready to invest. Together, we are sending a signal that Denmark and Norway are key countries for the sale of high-quality injection molding machines,” says Per Skjevik, General Manager of K.D. Feddersen in Norway.
