Autoinjector platform designed for circularity

Ypsomed introduces YpsoLoop, the first eco-designed autoinjector platform built for circularity, available in 1ml and 2ml versions.

Its design enables automated disassembly and efficient recycling, allowing for material recovery while maintaining the convenience of a two-step prefilled autoinjector. Composed of two mono-material subassemblies (syringe unit and drive unit), the platform allows components to be separated, recovered, and reintroduced into the material cycle. By using bio-based and sustainable materials, YpsoLoop achieves an 87% reduction in material-related CO₂ emissions compared to conventional devices. Designed for safe and intuitive use, YpsoLoop integrates ClickGuide technology, providing acoustic feedback during injection to ensure proper administration time and prevent early needle lift-off. Its ergonomic cap allows for easy handling for patients with limited dexterity.
