Compostable cutlery for ice cream

Among the innovations unveiled by ADBioplastics at Greenplast 2025 show in Milan are compostable cutlery designed for the ice cream industry, as well as a 500 ml bio-based and compostable bottle for baby shower gel and shampoo, developed in collaboration with Nua Cosmetics, Provei Global, and ITC Packaging.

This bottle, equipped with a PLA-Premium dosing cap, offers an eco-friendly alternative to PET bottles. Another innovative solution is the BioLoop Band, a PLA-Premium filament that replaces traditional twisted band closures. The BioLoop Band reduces material consumption by up to 55%, is shock and twist resistant, and compostable. Italy, a leader in compostable material regulations, aims to replace 90% of fossil plastics by 2045. Since 2018, the country has banned non-compostable plastic bags and encourages the use of sustainable bioplastics through tax incentives. Italy has already exceeded its compostable bioplastics recycling targets set for 2030.
