New PE cap for 100% mono-material and recyclable tubes

News 🇬🇧

Parfumerie & Cosmétique

posted Wednesday 30 June 2021

Albéa developed a new PE cap for a fully mono-material, recycling-ready packaging, a first on the oral care market. This cap comes as an addition to the range of single-material tube solutions provided by Albéa, thus taking another step towards its objective of making 100% recyclable tube packaging by 2025.

Made in Europe, Albéa’s PE Full Diameter Cap is a glossy screw cap, compatible with any of our plastic laminate tubes with a diameter of 28mm. This new PE cap replaces traditional PP caps – when combined with PE head and sleeve, the fully mono-material packaging can be easily recycled in existing HDPE streams. The PE Full Diameter Cap allows the consumer to toss the whole pack directly to the bin. This way, Albéa supports brands’ objective to achieve full recyclability of their packaging and thus contributes to their sustainable engagement. In October 2018, Albéa was the first cosmetic packaging supplier to sign the New Plastics Global Commitment of the Ellen McArthur Foundation, committing us to make 100% of our packaging recyclable, reusable or compostable by 2025. The PE full diameter cap completes its large range of single-material tube packaging and is perfectly integrated in its responsible packaging roadmap to meet its objective.
