Steinecker, a subsidiary of the Krones Group, has a new managing director effective 1 October 2024: Dr. Marcus Michel brings with him many years of experience in international plant engineering and process technology and has served in various companies and business units across a number of industries, including GEA Group, Thyssen-Krupp and Süd-Chemie in Germany, Haldor Topsoe in Denmark and ACG World in India.

Over the span of 25 years, Marcus Michel has led sales and production teams and was also in charge of the strategic and operational development of companies. After studying chemical engineering and then earning his doctorate at the Technical University of Clausthal, Dr. Marcus Michel also completed Executive MBA programmes at both the London Business School and the International Institute for Management Development (IMD) in Lausanne, Switzerland.

“We are very pleased to have Marcus Michel on board. He’s a highly experienced manager with comprehensive expertise in bioprocess engineering and life sciences, and we are confident that he will guide Steinecker to the next level of growth,” says Krones CEO Christoph Klenk. Dr. Marcus Michel adds, “I am delighted to take on this new role at Steinecker and to work with such a dedicated and capable team here in Freising. Our roots may lie in traditional brewing technology, but we also provide solutions for alternative food processing. These new pathways will help us fulfil our mission to deliver ‘Solutions beyond tomorrow’.”
