After the acquisition of Kentmere Packaging, Grenadier Packaging continues its growth by acquiring MM Packaging Leeuwarden from Mayr-Melnhof Karton AG (\u201cMM\u201d) on 31st December 2025. MM Packaging Leeuwarden is specialized in folding carton production across the Dutch and broader European market.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Under Grenadier Packaging\u2019s ownership, the Leeuwarden business will continue to operate as a dedicated standalone operation from its existing site in the Netherlands, with a clear focus on long-term stability and investment and full continuity of suppy, product quality, and service for customers. MM Packaging Leeuwarden employs 52 people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The acquisition builds on Grenadier Packaging\u2019s proven M&A track record, with six acquisitions completed to date and a continued focus on pursuing further strategic opportunities. \u201cWe are acquiring MM Packaging Leeuwarden with a long-term view and a strong respect for the business that already exists. This acquisition represents a considered step in extending Grenadier Packaging\u2019s footprint beyond the UK, allowing us to better support customers operating across European markets and to build a more resilient, diversified packaging group. Our focus remains on continuity \u2013 giving our support to the existing team, maintaining service levels, and investing responsibly over time,\u201d said Aidan Cahill, Joint Managing Director of Grenadier Packaging.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Leeuwarden site will remain focused on its current product portfolio and customer base, with no immediate changes planned to day-to-day operations, management structure, or supplier relationships.

Our priority through the transition is stability – ensuring customers, employees, and suppliers experience business as usual while the site benefits from the backing of a long-term owner,\u201d adds Ross Diamond, Joint Managing Director of Grenadier Packaging.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

All employees at the Leeuwarden facility are expected to transfer as part of the transaction, and all existing customer agreements will continue without disruption.
