Optima introduces FiberOne Pro for high-volume fiber-based packaging production
publié le lundi 05 octobre 2026
The Optima Packaging Group has completed FiberOne Pro, a high-performance platform for industrial-scale fiber-based packaging production. The system processes both Dry Molded Fiber and formable paper through paper thermoforming on the same platform, helping converters and brand owners bring new packaging concepts into high-volume manufacturing.
FiberOne Pro combines material preparation, forming, barrier application, cutting and stacking within one platform. It processes formable paper, pulp, airlaid web, crepe paper, tissue and material combinations. Inline barrier technologies can provide protection against water, oil, grease, water vapor and oxygen. Integrated recycling supports efficient material use.
It operates at a specified cycle time of three seconds and can produce up to 1,900 portion packs per minute, depending on the application, material and tooling. Complex geometries can be formed with depths of up to 120 millimeters and tolerances as low as ±0.1 millimeters.

The platform has been designed for applications in the whole consumer packaged goods industry. Initial application concepts have already been validated, and further industrial trials with customers are underway to transfer fiber-based packaging solutions into scalable production environments.
“The discussion about fiber packaging is no longer about feasibility. The next challenge is industrialization. FiberOne Pro was developed to bring new fiber concepts into high-volume manufacturing environments,” says Stefan König, CEO at Optima Packaging Group.
FiberOne Pro is part of Optima’s one-stop approach for fiber-based packaging. Based on the specific product, application, and production requirements, Optima advises customers on the most suitable solution, drawing on extensive expertise in materials, packaging development, and manufacturing processes. Dry molded fiber is one option within a broader technology portfolio that also includes paperboard forming and paper thermoforming. Optima combines these technologies with downstream automation to develop the packaging and production process as one integrated solution from the outset.
Besides that, FiberOne Pro is part of the machine family FiberOne, which includes also FiberOne Alpha and Core. Alpha is a perfect machine to start with DMF and paper thermoforming. Core is flexible to produce small SKUs but also with high output.
