Pharmaceutical bottle in 100% recycled virgin PET

During Pharmapack Europe 2024, Bormioli Pharma and Loop Industries presented an innovative pharmaceutical bottle based on 100% recycled PET Loop™ resin of virgin quality.

Infinite Loop™ technology recycles the lowest quality waste PET and polyester fibers into 100% recycled virgin grade PET Loop™ resin in compliance with the strict standards and requirements of the European Pharmacopoeia (Ph.Eur. 3.1 .15, Polyethylene terephthalate for containers for preparations not intended for parenteral administration) and the United States Pharmacopoeia (USP <661.1>, Plastic Materials of Construction). PET Loop™ resin helps create circularity for low-value waste while reducing greenhouse gas emissions and saving up to 360,000 tons of CO₂ per year compared to virgin PET made from fossil fuels. Bormioli Pharma’s EcoPositive offer, bringing together low-impact packaging solutions, now constitutes 50% of the standard catalog.
